The United Benefice of Sharnbrook, Felmersham and Knotting with Souldrop

Our Services and Acts of Worship:

Our wide range of Services are designed to provide varied worship for all.  They are briefly outlined as follows: (Click here for This Month's Service Schedule)

Holy Communion

This is a commemoration of the last supper that Jesus spent with his disciples and is celebrated in the following formats as a regular family act of worship.

bulletThe traditional form of the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) is used at our monthly said services at St. Peters and  St.  Margaret's. These are at 8.00 am and 9.00 am respectively and last approximately 30 minutes.

****************

bulletThe  Common Worship (CW) Order 1 with traditional language similar to the BCP is used at the All Saints 9.00 am Parish Communion. Three hymns and some parts of the service are sung and the service with a sermon is normally of around 50 minutes duration.

****************

bulletCommon Worship Order 1 is also used for the twice Monthly Parish Communion at St. Peters but with modern language. The Choir leads the singing of the communion setting and hymns. Our young people leave early in the service to take part in their Explorers and Youth Works activities. This service includes a sermon and lasts approximately one hour.

****************

bulletOur monthly Family Communion at St. Peters is a simplified and shortened version of  Common Worship Order 1, designed for our young people and families to feel welcome. A talk or  activity involves the children and modern music is used. The service lasts around 45 minutes.

All Age Worship

This is a  monthly service at St. Peters which is a less formal non-communion service particularly  intended for family worship and participation. The music includes many modern worship songs and the talk/activity will often involve invited presenters or drama by the Youth Works and/or Explorers groups.

All our 10.15 am services at St. Peter's are followed by coffee or soft drinks in St. Peter's Room and offer an opportunity to relax and chat.

Evensong

This traditional service with a sermon and using the Book of Common Prayer is held weekly at St. Peters at 6.00 pm. Hymns and canticles are sung

As it is not possible to always possible to plan the above services to a regular pattern, see each detailed monthly schedule as below.
