Construction and Dedication of St. Peter's Room


            Work commenced on 18th. April 2005

            Informal Opening:  Saturday 12th. November 2005

                                        

The first task was to remove and re-bury (or re-site) the graves  of those affected by the alterations in the area of construction.  This entailed the attendance of archaeologists and undertakers. This work was completed in accordance with the wishes of the surviving relatives  by the 26th. April. Those re-buried under the site are commemorated by a special plaque (See below) . Existing stones have been been re-sited to appropriate new positions in the Churchyard.

The magnificent progress over the summer months and the opening ceremony is recorded in the pictures below.

Dedication by Bishop of Bedford: Sunday 19th. February 2006

On Sunday 19th. February we welcomed the Bishop of Bedford, Rt. Revd. Richard Inwood and other guests for the Dedication Ceremony which took place after our Sunday Eucharist and was followed by a buffet lunch.
